“Everywhere you look you can find Me”, He said. I was distracted once again, a million and one things running through my brain, but earnestly ‘trying’ to seek His face, the more I tried, the more distracted. I fumbled about on the internet and found Joyce Meyers teaching list and I heard Him again, “Go on, I have something to teach you in that one”. (He sure did, hindrances, distractions, stuff just getting in the way). My real hankering was to abide in Him, not abide in Joyce, but I clicked on the link; ‘Removing Hindrances – Part 1’. Then sure enough, right in the middle of her programme, I was distracted by another task, restringing glass fishing floats.
Just how do I do this knot, then all of a sudden there He was, reminding me “Everywhere you look you can find Me, you just have to open your eyes”. Sure enough there He was teaching me with love.
What I was trying to do was turn a mess into it’s former beauty (Something the LORD has to do with me daily).
I looked at the fragile glass balls covered in dust and disregarded, we all know how that can feel. Now I could see that the ball represented me. The rope netting was fraying because it had been left out in all weathers, unnoticed, but still it did it’s job.
The fragile glass was held securely by the rope netting, even though it had been ignored. The glass allows the sun to shine through and display the beauty, but no one sees the rope holding it all together.
I scribbled a few notes and pressed on with my day, happy to have had a little time with the LORD. That evening I decided to continue with the task of re-netting, but first to gently extract the globe from it’s old net and wash it. Ever so carefully I cut the rope and took the globe to the sink, where of course I dropped it! I was so angry with myself, but not mad. I know that I should have been, but I had a strange sense of peace about me.
I took the globe and saw that it had a slight crack in it, so thought that I would continue to work it into the new netting. Very carefully I manoeuvred it, while it hissed as it took in air, before it popped a hole big enough to stop me going any further. I put some tape across the hole just to keep it safe and put it to one side. When I looked at it again I saw the tape as a cross and knew that my lesson wasn’t over.
Now as I write this I am asking the LORD for the rest of the lesson and imagining the globe in its current state. The first thing I hear is:
“Where is it?” Then He continued, “It’s broken and sitting abandoned in a corner in the dark, go and get it, bring it into the light!”
The rope He told me signified Jesus. Now, I know that Jesus doesn’t fray, but I could see that I was trying to fix Him as well as everything else in my life.
The lesson continued:
“When you cut that rope, however loose it might be, or as old and frayed as you saw it being, you took it away and put that globe in danger. If you cut Me off for whatever reason, for however short or long, you put your life in danger. Did you notice, the globe only dropped a little, but the hardness of the basin was enough to cause harm. The globe was cracked and the air of the world as it started to infiltrate its delicate structure. It doesn’t matter how gently you move, without Me, the world is hard and if you fall into it you will crack and when the world starts to enter you break. When you break, people may try to patch you up, but they will also put you to one side and forget about you. The world is cruel and not a place to go without Me. I asked you to go and get the globe, because if you remember, that is what I did for you. I patched you up a little and brought you into the light.”
At this point I got distracted again, so I knew there must be something more important to hear and learn – of course there was, the gentleness stopped and the instruction started, the still small voice spoke meaningfully and straight to my heart.
“This was an example of what you have done and you should know better, because it has also been done to you, over and over. What I want you to do now for Me is to pick up the pieces of your life. I know that you are in pain, I know that you want to do My will, I know that it is difficult, but I did not put the spirit of fear in you, you are the head not the tail and you will march forward for My glory!”
“Alison, stop putting things to one side and selecting the easy option, you have a job to do and when you look clearly you will know what that job is. I will shine a brighter light on the next step and you will climb up that step regardless of what anyone else tells you. I will lift you, I will carry you, but you will move forward, you will not be left in the dark abandoned and you will not leave others abandoned.”
“I want you to spend time with Me every morning. I will show you the battle plan for the day. I will dress you and equip you. I will lead you and protect you. I will have the glory and I will raise you up. So starting now, put your own house in order, let others put theirs in order, stop worrying about them, hand them to Me and stop interfering, I can do this. Trust Me. Leave them to Me, when you interfere, that is like you cutting the rope. How can they trust Me if you’re the one they see fixing things?”
“Together ‘WE’ can do this, apart from Me you can’t, I can, but you can’t. I will heal your aches and pains, they will be nothing, because they are nothing. Don’t leave Me or the world may seep into those cracks, stay with Me and I shall heal all of those cracks, you will see and you will shine. Now go in My name to serve Me.”
“I love you, I will never leave nor forsake you. I know your heart and I know that you want to do My will. My will is for you to stay in My protection, wherever we go, whoever we meet. I am your secure net. I will protect you from the bumps and breaks, I will show you how to float in safety and My glory will shine through you. Go, go on, what are you waiting for?”
